Exemplos:
- Às 9h amanhã estarei a trabalhar. Em inglês: I will be working at 9 am tomorrow.
- Amanhã às 20h ela estará cozinhando. Em inglês: She will be cooking at 8 pm tomorrow.
Em inglês: This time next week we will be travelling.
Exemplos:
- Às 21h eu estarei a estudar e ela estará a ver televisão. Em inglês: At 9 pm I will be studying and she will be watching TV.
- Enquanto tu estiveres a trabalhar, eu estarei a praticar piano. Em inglês: While you are working, I will be practising the piano.
Exemplos:
- Estarei a ver TV quando chegares. Em inglês: I will be watching TV when you arrive.
- Eu estarei a jantar quando o chefe telefonar. Em inglês: I will be having dinner when the boss calls.
Exemplos:
- Estarás a usar o carro esta noite? Em inglês: Will you be using the car this evening?
Em inglês: Will you be needing the room tomorrow morning?
Exemplos:
- Ela provavelmente estará a dormir agora. Em inglês: She'll probably be sleeping now.
Em inglês: After the flight, he will be resting.
Como se forma o future continuous?
Forma afirmativa
- Estrutura: sujeito + will + be + verbo-ing (present participle)
- Exemplos:
- I will be working. (Eu estarei a trabalhar / Estarei trabalhando.)
- She will be studying. (Ela estará estudando / Ela estará a estudar.)
Forma negativa
- Estrutura: sujeito + will not (won't) + be + verbo-ing
- Exemplos:
- I will not be attending the meeting. (Eu não vou estar presente na reunião.)
- He won't be coming tomorrow. (Ele não virá amanhã.)
Forma interrogativa
- Estrutura: Will + sujeito + be + verbo-ing?
- Exemplos:
- Will you be working on Saturday? (Você estará a trabalhar no sábado?)
- Will she be joining us? (Ela vai juntar-se a nós?)
Respostas curtas
- Yes, I will. / No, I won't. (Sim, estarei. / Não, não estarei.)
Contrações
- I will = I'll, you will = you'll, he will = he'll, she will = she'll, it will = it'll, we will = we'll, they will = they'll
- Will not = won't
- Exemplo: I'll be waiting. (Eu estarei à espera.)
- at 8 pm tomorrow / tomorrow morning / this time next week / on Friday evening / all day tomorrow / by this time next year
Exemplos:
- At 10 o'clock tomorrow I will be taking the exam. (Às 10h amanhã estarei a fazer o exame.)
- This time next year she will be living in Madrid.
- All evening we'll be rehearsing for the show. (A noite toda estaremos a ensaiar para o espetáculo.)
Comparações: future continuous vs outros tempos
- Simple future (will + base) foca a decisão, promessa ou ação completa: "I will call you." = (Vou ligar; ação completa)
- Future continuous foca a ação em progresso num ponto do futuro: "I will be calling you at 6."
Exemplos:
- I will write the report tomorrow. (Vou escrever o relatório amanhã.) — ação completa.
- I will be writing the report at 3 pm tomorrow. (Estarei a redigir o relatório às 15h amanhã.) — em progresso às 15h.
- Present continuous: usado para planos ou compromissos firmes ("I'm meeting him tomorrow" = encontro combinado).
Exemplos:
- I'm meeting John tomorrow. (Tenho um encontro marcado com John amanhã.)
- I'll be meeting John tomorrow at 3 pm. (Estarei a encontrar-me com John amanhã às 15h — ênfase no processo naquele momento.)
- "Be going to" indica planos/intenção ou previsão baseada em evidência.
- "Going to be + -ing" existe e enfatiza que algo vai estar em progresso: "I'm going to be working all weekend."
- Muitas vezes tanto "will be" como "going to be" podem ser usados; a diferença é subtil: "going to" pode sugerir plano prévio.
Exemplos:
- I'll be working all weekend.
- I'm going to be working all weekend.
Erro 1: Esquecer o auxiliar "be"
- Incorreto: I will working tomorrow.
- Correto: I will be working tomorrow.
- Incorreto para ação em progresso: I will write at 9 pm. (pode ser interpretado como ação completa)
- Melhor quando queres mostrar processo: I will be writing at 9 pm.
- "I'm meeting him tomorrow" (arranjo fixo).
Erro 4: Forma passiva do future continuous (raro e normalmente evitado)
- Teórica: The house will be being painted next week.
- Na prática é mais natural dizer: The house will be painted next week. ou They will be painting the house next week.

- Procura por "will be" seguido de um verbo em -ing: este padrão normalmente indica future continuous.

- Para marcar um arranjo fixo (encontro, voo, reunião) prefere o present continuous ou "to have" com hora: "I'm meeting him" ou "My flight leaves at 9".
- Para perguntas educadas sobre planos/necessidades usa "Will you be... ?"
- Present participle / -ing form: forma do verbo terminada em -ing (ex.: working, studying). Em português: gerúndio / particípio presente.
- Auxiliary verb (verbo auxiliar): "will" e "be" são auxiliares usados na formação do future continuous.
- Contraction: forma contraída de "will" (I'll, you'll, he'll, etc.).
- Estrutura básica: sujeito + will + be + verbo-ing.
